LION KING SAVANNA SQUAD
GRADES: 3-5

An exciting introduction to musical theatre! A fun mix of singing, dancing, and acting, Savanna Squad cast members will participate in ensemble numbers with the principal cast of The Lion King JR.

Rehearsals: Wednesday 4:30-5:30pm beginning April 1 and one Sunday rehearsal May 17, 12:45-2:15pm
No rehearsal Wednesday, April 29.

Tech Week Rehearsals: May 27 or 28 (depending on which cast they are assigned), 5:15-8:45pm
No tech week rehearsal conflicts accepted - cast members must be available for their scheduled tech rehearsal

Performances: May 29-31 and June 5-7
No performance conflicts accepted - cast members must be available for all scheduled performances

Auditions will not be held for Savanna Squad. Enrollment is limited but ALL registered students will be cast in this production!

The Lion King JR will be double-cast. Squad members will be cast in either the Hakuna Cast OR the Matata Cast. Each Squad member will perform in a total of FOUR performances - two performances the weekend of May 29-31 and two performances the weekend of June 5-7.

Squad call times for performances are typically one hour before the show begins.

Rehearsal conflicts:
Cast families must respond to the Rehearsal Conflict Survey before we assign students to the Hakuna or Matata casts and declare any conflicts with the published rehearsal schedule. Cast members may have a limited number of pre-approved rehearsal conflicts and still have a successful experience if those conflicts are submitted before casting. 

Parent Volunteer Hours:
Savanna Squad cast families are required to volunteer at least 4 hours for this production or to buyout the required volunteer hours at $15 per hour. Volunteer opportunities include helping make costumes, set painting, set building, costume or prop shopping, providing supervision at dress rehearsals and performances, ushering, selling concessions, etc. All volunteer hours must be submitted within one week of the show’s closing date. If required hours are not met or hours are not submitted by the deadline, a charge of $20 per unfulfilled hour will be applied to your account. Per our new board policy, future registrations will not be allowed with a balance still remaining on your account.

Tickets:
Tickets for The Lion King JR will be available via our online box office in April. Savanna Squad cast members will be assigned to the Hakuna cast or the Matata cast after the first rehearsal and cast lists will be sent to all cast families before tickets go on sale.
