ABOUT THE WIZARD OF OZ - YOUNG PERFORMERS EDITION
Join Dorothy and her loyal companion Toto as they “Follow the Yellow Brick Road” through the Land of Oz, determined to reach the Emerald City, where the great and powerful Wizard of Oz will help them get home. Of course, along the way, Dorothy encounters witches (both good and bad), Munchkins, talking trees and winged monkeys. But most importantly, she befriends three unique characters: a Scarecrow with no brain, a Tin Man with no heart, and a Lion with no “nerve.” Their journey to happiness – and self-awareness – is a glowing testament to friendship, understanding and hope in a world filled with both beauty and ugliness.
UPSTART CROW YOUTH THEATRE
UCYT is a busy, creative hub for kids and teens in the Churchill neighborhood. Our program offers theatre classes, summer camps, and inclusive casting in our fully produced and staged musical theatre productions. Theatre is our name but “our game” is supporting youth - artistically, developmentally, socially, and emotionally in an inclusive environment where they are affirmed for their authentic selves. We like to say “Theatre is a team sport” and at UCYT, “every kid plays.”

About Stage Door Extravaganza
The 2025 Stage Door Extravaganza is a culmination of our Stage Door Performance Troupe's season! Troupe members will perform highlights from each project Stage Door worked on over the year as well as some new material! Join us for an evening of fun and reminiscing as we reflect back on our season together.
Who is Stage Door?
Stage Door is a by-invitation theatre troupe for our most hard-core Crows! Stage Door troupe members are self-motivated, and eager to learn and practice musical theatre, leadership, and ensemble skills. Stage Door troupe members develop soft skills similar to that of a sports team - confidence, accountability, teamwork, leadership, and more.
Each year, Stage Door presents a 15-minute adjudicated cut of a MTI JR show at the Junior Theatre Festival WEST in Sacramento, CA (Something Rotten JR - 2025), and produces a student-directed production (Mean Girls JR - 2025) - with Stage Door taking on roles both in the cast AND the production team. Throughout the season, Troupe Members also perform in many of our productions, volunteer to help during shows or costume fittings, receive private vocal lessons, attend social events, and see local theatre performances.
